Russell P. Dunnum, M.D. earned his Bachelor's Degree; graduating, Cum Laude with a major in Bioengineering and minors in both Physiology and The Economics of Health Systems at The United States Air Force Academy and at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD).


Dr. Dunnum graduated Phi Beta Kappa, earning his Medical Doctorate Degree (M.D.) at Brown University Medical School.


In 1985, Dr. Dunnum became the Medical Director of Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group for Occupational Medicine. Dr. Dunnum was instrumental in the development their Executive Health and Occupational Medicine Programs.


In 1989, Dr. Dunnum joined OASIS Medical Group, developing their Occupational Medicine Program. As well, Dr. Dunnum provided medical care as a Treating Team Physician for the San Diego Professional Football Team, The San Diego Professional Soccer Team, The Los Angeles Professional Basketball Team and United States Olympic Team's Athletes.


In 1992, Dr. Dunnum started his private medical practice specializing in Occupational and Sports Medicine.


From 2004 to 2007 Dr. Dunnum served as the Consultant on Occupational Medicine to The California State Assembly Insurance Committee. As such Dr. Dunnum testified before the California State Legislature, helping to pass significant legislation defining "First Aid" in workers' compensation to help save California employers millions of dollars, while insuring that injured employees receive all of their workers' compensation benefits and rights.
